The Assistant Chef, under the direction of the Unit Chef, will provide direct supervision of all culinary staff of a fast-paced university catering and/or residential dining center serving meals to over 8,000 student meal-plan holders daily. Culinary responsibilities include planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all aspects of the kitchen operation.
Along with other common chemical measurement/analysis devices, this position requires in-depth knowledge and experience with the (1) 400 MHz and 500 MHz Bruker Avance III NMR spectrometers, (2) Bruker Xenon EPR spectrometer, (3) Bruker Apex II single crystal XRD, and (4) ThermoFisher Q Exactive Orbitrap HRMS.
This position is responsible for the bookkeeping, accounting, and budgeting aspects of the operating, agency, and custodial budgets of the School of Biological Sciences. This position also assists Principal Investigators with balancing external funding budgets.
This position is responsible for the coordination of all student employee activities and the development of a customer service team that responds to customer needs and resolves customer complaints. This position also plays an integral role in ensuring the cleanliness of the dining center.
