Job Summary

The Summer Band Camp Counselor position is for accompanying campers from one location/event to another (i.e. group rehearsal to sectionals). The counselor also monitors the campers during mealtimes, evening activities, and transitions during the day. If a camper has a problem of any kind, their counselor would be the first point of contact.

$16.00 per hour

1. Availability to work the High School Band Camp, which will be June 23–June 28
2. Familiarity and prior experience with the Illinois State University Band program

Special Instructions for Applicants

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University’s supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.

Applicable part-time work experience will be considered toward qualifying for this position; however, it will be converted to a full-time equivalency to determine combined length of experience.
